The UNE Women's Basketball Team's hopes of a TCCC Championship are now gone. The Ladies lost for the second consecutive game at the MacDonald Gymnasium, as Endicott College pulled out a 78-67 victory last night. The Nor'easters held a one-point lead at the half by connecting on 50% of the three point attempts, going 6-12. The second half was a different story, however, as the Women went cold from everywhere (9-32 overall), but especially from deep (1-11).
Endicott junior forward, Ceciley Chisholm, took the game over in the second half, and finished with 18 points and an outstanding 15 rebounds. However, shooting was the story for this game. The Gulls shot 47% for the game, including shooting 60% from beyond the arc. The Nor'easters shot an abysmal 32% from the field, and only 30% from three-land.
The women were lead by freshman forward Margo Russell, who was the only Nor'easter in double figures with 17 points and grabbed 8 boards.
UNE will keep their fingers crossed in hopes of keeping their season alive with a bid to the ECAC Tournament.
