TCCC Tourney Starts Tonight!

The University of New England Men's and Women's Basketball Teams open up the TCCC tourney tonight as the both go head-to-head against Western New England. The Nor'easters will look to seek revenge as the Golden Bears ended the Men's and Women's game 363 days ago.
Oh how the tides have turned in the TCCC; the Men's team is this years top ranked team, up from being the fifth ranked team last season, and the Women's team has shot up from seventh to third.
Last year the Men lost at WNEC in a grueling battle 69-60. The Nor'easters displayed some sharp shooting and depth when the Golden Bears came to visit earlier in the year. The bench provided 40 points, led by Anthony Johnson who had 11, and the team shot an outstanding 57%. The Men caused 26 turnovers, 13 off of guard Rick Johnson alone, on their way to a 79-66 win. The Golden Bears are going to come back hungry and hot, as they have been winners of five of their last six games.
The Women could not get anything going in last years tournament, only shooting 31% from the field, and committing 18 turnovers. Earlier this year, the Nor'easters pulled out a seven point victory, as Carrie Bunnell, Margo Russell, and Sara Pelkey were all in double figures for the home team. UNE was able to dominate the paint, scoring 26 points in the paint, and will look to do so again tonight as WNEC looks to end the Nor'easters season for the second year in a row.
