Thomas College proved to be no contest for UNE yesterday, as the Nor'easters rolled to victories of 6-1 and 9-0. In the first half of the doubleheader, first-year hurler Erin Lyons scattered four hits and had nine punchados, holding Thomas to just a single run over seven innings. Six different Nor'easters had hits yesterday. Leading the pack was senior Ashley Depasquale, who had three hits, and junior Lauren Webb had two. The Nor'easters were able to get on the board early, putting one run across in the first and added some more insurance in the fourth and fifth innings.
In the nightcap, the Nor'easters made quick work of the Terriers wrapping the game up in five innings due to the mercy rule. UNE put their hitting shoes on, hammering 16 hits and sending 9 ladies across the plate. All of the starters had at least one hit. Maegen Gaedje piloted the offensive charge with 3 hits, 3 rbi, and 2 runs scored. Depasquale, Webb, and junior Angie Damon each chipped in with two hits in the 9-0 rout.
The Nor'easters get back to conference play as they travel for a double-header against Anna Maria tomorrow, and return home to host Western New England on Sunday.
